A defixiones from the 4th century BCE. Defixiones were thin sheets of lead inscribed with curses or magical phrases. They were sent to the gods of the underworld and were most frequently placed in tombs. this one reads, "...bind the tongue and the speech of Diogenes, Kriton, Menon, Epandros..." and is from Oraiokastro, Thessaloniki, cemetery.
