Inside the White Tower in Thessaloniki. The tower is the most commonly known monument in Thessaloniki. Built in the 15th century to replace a 12th century Byzantine fortification, it was used a fort for harbor defense, as a garrison and as the notorious "Tower of Blood" (Kanli Kule) prison. Today it is museum dedicated to the city's history and multicultural spirit.
