Gulf War M109A1. The British Army purchased US M109s in 1967 and used them to supplement the 105mm Abbot self-propelled gun. The 155mm gun was also intended to fire tactical nuclear shells. They were up-dated with longer gun barrels and greater range and continued in use until the first Gulf War [see above] finally being withdrawn from service around 1996.
